The caching process needs to begin anew. It works exactly as before tho. So be calm, and keep gaming. DXVK Async is a great tool for a lot of DX9-10-11 games, even on Windows, because it does asynchronous shader compilation.

WebThis feature delivers nearly stutter free shader cache compilation for DXVK titles (so, DX9 to 11, excluding DX12), and should significantly improve shader cache stuttering (especially in the first few days after a new game/update drops before Valve has had a chance to distribute shader caches and for non-Steam games such as Heroic). WebAlso DXVK Async removes the required 5-15 min or so of stutters you get from the initial shader compilation. There are also some games that don't work no matter what unfortunately: GTA 5 and Far Cry 4 for example. Also: DXVK has enforced Vsync. You can disable it in the config file you have to create.
